Snow on May 2nd

Not the most interesting of pictures, but I just had to document the fact that we got about 4 inches a couple of days ago!  Our birch tree was weighed down so heavily, but none of the branches broke which was lucky. A lot of it had melted later that day and it's long gone by now with a return to 70 degree weather. Certainly an anomaly that was worth documenting. :) Update on baby #2 on Tuesday!

Oh baby!!!

Ultrasound today went great! All parts are in working order and without problems. We didn't find out the sex, but realized today seeing that little baby that we don't really care what it is at this point. We'd love a boy or a girl and are equally excited about the possibility of both!

Tomorrow Henry and I leave for St. Louis for the weekend. We'll take some pictures this time and post some soon!

And I'm not even going to comment on the 5 to 8 inches of snow they are predicting is falling right now here. It's not worth a comment. :( April? April?

Talk to you guys more soon!

Sleeping at the wheel

Daniel took this the other day at the grocery store. It was only 11:30am, but I think with the big boy bed, sleep has been a little different and naptime was at 11:29am. So cute.

Best friends

Just a couple of pictures that my friend, Ember, took of Elleny and Henry from a playdate last night. Thought they were too cute not too share!

I will upload another video this afternoon.

I'm going for a record breaking number of posts this month. :)

Memorable sayings

Daniel took this video with his iphone the other day and it features two of our more favorite things that he's been saying lately.

1. Daniel or I: "Henry do you know you're special?"
Henry: "I'm not special. I'm just Henry."

2. Henry: "Daddy/Mommy, is this a _______?"
Us: "It could be a __________."
    Henry: "It IS a __________."

We've been hearing both of these dialogues daily if not multiple times a day and he's so consistent always following the same pattern and responding in the same way. These are the little things that we just never want to forget. May they now live on in blogosphere forever. :)

Big boy bed!

It's official -- Henry's a big boy complete with a twin bed to prove it! We bought it on Tuesday and they delivered it on Wednesday and he's been doing great with it ever since. We immediately broke down the crib for storage (see you in 9 months, crib) and hoped that the new bed would take. He's been out a couple of times after we put him down, but it only takes one return and he's good. And tonight he didn't come back out at all. So another transition for the history books.

Here, he is kissing his beloved, Bunny.

And just a random picture of him eating his favorite meal, noodles with olive oil and salt and pepper. Super nutritious I know. :) I got him laughing about something and I just love his face in this one, all lit up with happiness.

It's still been a learning curve with the new camera, hence the lack of loads of pictures like I was promising, but my outdoor pictures are coming along so I'm thinking this summer I'll be able to hold true to my promise. Until then, I've got a few videos to share with you that crack me up. I'll post one later tonight and the other one very soon.

I just got over some stomach virus/food poisoning and am feeling very fortunate for good health today. You never realize how lucky you are to be healthy until you feel like crap. But today I feel lucky. Hope you are all feeling lucky too. :)

#2 (the baby kind, not the poop kind)

It's official --we've got a bun in the oven! When thinking of how I wanted to do this post, I came up with a million cute ideas of pictures to take with Henry holding a sign saying big brother, but taking pictures of him doing something I want him to do is oh so difficult! So then I thought I'd just take a picture of me holding up a sign saying "#2" and pointing to my belly. I realized that this would look like a picture of me trying to communicate my need to go #2 -- not the effect I wanted to have. So, here's just me holding what is our little baby right now -- 14 weeks -- the size of a lemon, plus some extra cushioning to keep it nice and safe. :)

We're due Sept 8th and don't plan on finding out what we're having. Daniel and I are both hoping for a girl, but it'd be great for Henry to have a little brother to play with too.  Henry kinda gets that we're having a baby, but it's real fuzzy to him. I think it won't be till September with a crying baby at home that the fuzz will come off. :)

I've been feeling better these past couple of weeks, but before then I was not a picnic to be around -- crabby, tired and nauseous. I kept thinking there had to be twins (or maybe octuplets) in there with how I was feeling; I wanted some extreme reason to be so out of sorts. But I guess one baby is probably reason enough. I didn't remember feeling like this with Henry, but then I read back to early entries on here when I was pregnant with Henry and I guess I did feel just as yucky, but have a selective memory.

We go for our 16 week appointment in a couple of weeks and I'll write more then. And hopefully we'll have a first picture to show April 18th when we go for our first (and only) ultrasound. Share more then!
