Just eating oatmeal

My friend Ember took these of Henry the other day and I just love them. I love how journalistic they are -- just a day in the life of Henry. And they are so typical -- just eating oatmeal on the carpet; first with a spoon and then, who needs a spoon, and digs right in with the hand.

Big news here soon -- post in a couple of days. Promise!

Bunny

Bunny is by far Henry's favorite stuffed animal, which I think I mentioned when we took his 2 year-old pictures. My mom gave Bunny to Henry for his first Easter and it wasn't until Bunny became Henry's friend, Elleny's favorite, that he truly fell in love with Bunny. But they've been inseparable for over a year now. He always goes to bed with him at night and often has been coming downstairs with us in the morning. Most mornings and afternoons when we get Henry from his crib we're greeted not by Henry, but by Bunny held over Henry's face. Henry often says "Oh, hi, Bunny!" and then we repeat back "Oh, hi, Bunny!"

I've been trying to take lots of pictures lately to get a grasp on my new camera. Some pictures turn out better than others and even though this isn't the best quality, I love the expression on Henry's face and the fact that he's got Bunny up over his face because I often see this. A little slice that captures the moments we're often having here. And that will mean more to me in years and decades to come than a perfect picture, right?

Getting organized

Hi everyone! I'm in the midst of getting ready to go scrapbooking with my sisters. I leave to go to St. Louis on Friday and we'll then drive to Branson where we scrapbook nonstop (well, almost) until Monday. This is my 5th year of going and each time I've gotten more and more into it, both passionately and financially. But I really do look forward to the weekend to talk and laugh with my sisters and get some memory making in a book too.

Tonight I went through piles and piles of pictures and came across this one and thought I'd share. It's Daniel and his dad when I'm guessing Daniel was around 2yo. First, I think this picture is adorable, and it's one of Daniel's favorites too. Second, I was amazed at how much Henry resembles Daniel at that age.

Well I better continue with my organization task. I have a few more pictures to share from the new camera. I'll post those tomorrow. Take care!

New camera!

Just got a new camera folks and that means there will be many more posts this year and much better pictures. My old camera was slightly broken and didn't focus or flash appropriately so I'd get some horrible indoor shots. I found that I just stopped taking pictures all together. A friend had bought a new camera and asked if we wanted to buy her old one for a great price. Sold! I know very little about this camera and can just shoot on auto right now, but I'm hoping to get better over the year about shooting on manual and really taking great pictures. Here's hoping anyway!

We got 5 inches of wintery mix yesterday so we played for just a short while in it today. Henry's got a doozey of a cough that takes his breath away, but oddly seemed better when we were outside. Maybe the cold air, maybe just the distraction of being outside. Daniel made him a tiny snowman that he loved (until he knocked him over tonight when we went out briefly). Hoping to make a family of bigger snowmen in the backyard tomorrow. I'll post the pictures.

Stay warm wherever you are! And if you're in St. Louis, stay on the ground (I hear tornado warnings are in effect... tornadoes in January... hello, global warming). Much love!

For a good laugh...

This might be the first post that doesn't involve Henry. Thought I should pass this on cause it was too funny not to share. Warning: it's about S-E-X, but not in a dirty way.

While you're there poke around on the website. There's a ton of really interesting talks on the website.

Hope it gives you something to smile about! :)

Warning: this is cheesy

Made this video tonight while playing around on my computer. It's cheesy and not very interesting, but thought I'd share it anyway. :) There will be funnier ones in the future now that I know how to do it. :) Enjoy!

We've got snow!

A foot of snow! Henry wasn't so interested in it because he mostly just wanted to play in the garage since he hasn't been able to play in there for a couple of months because it's cold out. Daniel said it's like when you get a child a present and they just want to play with the box. I guess our garage is Henry's box. :) It was fun while it lasted though and I'm sure as time goes on and there's a sled involved, snow will get more fun.

Hope you're all not snowed in and if you are that you are in good company sipping something warm! :)
