Two weeks ago (wow, it's been that long ago!), we had our first Thanksgiving at our house. Daniel and I were off for Thanksgiving Day, but didn't have any other days off, so we decided to not travel anywhere and stay home. Daniel got a turkey a couple of days before and that sparked the idea to really do a full Thanksgiving meal. We were very proud of how it all turned out! The meal was fabulous! Daniel and I gobbled it up and Henry, well, he ate some corn, but wasn't too hungry that night. But we got this picture of him with a turkey leg. We couldn't resist. :)

So many happenings this month
My mom and sisters came to visit at the beginning of November. We had such a great time (mostly after Henry was asleep and we could play some cards -- lots of "May I," our favorite card game to play). We went shopping, played with Henry, ate lots of yummy food (Daniel made bananas foster, yum), and laughed lots. No one peed in their pants, though, so that was good. Thanks so much for flying up guys! We LOVED having you here!
Henry's been quite the Daddy's boy as of late and we've noticed he behaves much better for Daniel than he does for me. So I've been taking notes from Daniel. :) Here's some cute pictures that I got of Daniel and Henry this month.
Adorable, huh? Henry's been giving more and more kisses and comes over frequently for hugs throughout the day. I melt everytime he does it. And I love seeing him love up on Daniel, too.
He's got 14 teeth now and the last two upper eye teeth were particulary painful. For all of us. :) Henry's always been so good through it all -- still sleeping wonderfully (about 12 hours at night and a 4 hour nap during the day), just gets a little crabby. He continues to eat most things we put in front of him, but he's getting progressively more picky. His favorite right now is "CHEEESE!" He would eat about 10 things of string cheese if we let him. Loves the dairy!
Daniel took this picture the other day. This was right after my family had left and we had the toilet paper down -- "I'll play with that, thank you very much." Glad Daniel grabbed the camera. Too cute not to have pictures of. :)
I'll post some pictures in the next couple of days of our Thanksgiving. Hope you had a happy one! More soon!

Happy halloween greetings from Oz!
Daniel's parents came up from Iowa to celebrate halloween with us and we had a BLAST!!! We went as the Wizard of Oz and wore homemade costumes (Shirley's was thrifted). I actually think there's a diagnosis for my condition of enjoying this all so much, maybe it's called immaturity. ;) No, just childlike exuberance, I think. We laughed a lot and it will for sure be remembered by all of us, even though the little lion might not. :) Hope you all had a good one!

I *heart* fall

Yep it's fall around here as evidenced by the chilly weather and the abundance of apples, which Henry LOVES! He goes to the frig and says "nana," which is his word for milk, but then as I open it up, he fakes me out and grabs an apple. But he smiles real big and repeatedly says "appa" then starts walking all around the house with his appa. It's cute.
One more cute thing. I was putting Henry's shoes on to go "byebye" yesterday, which he gets very excited about these days. I was bent down and he was standing, but with me picking up his leg to put his shoes on he was getting off balance. So I pulled him close and showed him how to hold on to my shoulder. I went back to putting his shoes on and he put his hand under my chin and pulled my head up to look at him. Then he kissed my forehead all the while holding my chin. What a romantic he will be! I was touched and he had a huge, proud grin on his face. The stuff moms live for, I tell ya.
Enjoy the fall weather and go buy some "appa"s -- they're so yummy right now!

Greetings from the cupboard!
It's been about a month since I last posted anything and yet there's not a whole lot new going on around here. We just went to Henry's 15 month doctor's appointment and he's weighing 26 pounds, 32 3/4 inches about 75th percentile. And healthy as a horse (who had a swollen eye last week which bought him his first doctor's sick visit, but they said it was just viral and would go away in 24 hours and sure enough they were right!) He's got 8 teeth now and we're just waiting for the back ones to start wreaking some havoc around here. :) Henry's still napping twice a day and sleeping his solid 12 hours at night. He is saying more and more words -- "chicken" is the latest. He mostly just likes to play with whatever he can find that isn't meant for him (cords are high up there on his favorite list and brooms too).
He got in the cupboard the other day while I was cooking. The next day, he broke a pyrex bowl by pulling it down and dropping it. Now we lock that cupboard again! But the picture we were able to take was cute! Worth a pyrex bowl. :)
Hope to post a picture of Henry's new playhouse Daniel and I made for him very soon!
