Pictures from Branson!

My mom sent me these and I don't think they could be any cuter!

"Why do I have to wear this stupid hat, Mom?"

Me and all my cousins on the boat

Henry's first popsicle. He loved it!

Me and my sisters -- So glad my mom took this one. I feel like I always forget to take any of the adults. :) And this time I had forgotten my camera all together.

Thanks for sending these to me mom! And for such a fun week! Counting down the months until Virginia!

More soon on our quick trip to Chicago last weekend to visit friends and our upcoming trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa in a couple of weeks.

Just a few pictures

Just a few cute pictures that we've taken lately. I can't quite get over how fast he is learning things these days. He has quite the vocabulary now saying: mama, dada (and daddy occasionally), nana (for banana and oddly, milk, too), apple, cracker, ball, diaper, ni-ni (for night night) and I know I'm forgetting some others. He looks at you like he really gets what you're saying which is new and really cute. We couldn't be a happier family watching him grow. Truly.

Henry and I went to Branson last week for vacation with my family. Hoping to post some pictures soon! Hope you're all surviving the heat wave! Enjoy the cool down!

Another addition of the funny pages

Again click on it to view it larger.

Daniel made this one because Henry looks so contemplative all the time, questioning the bigger questions in life, I'm sure. :)

Monkeys

No funny pages cause Daniel's been working like a madman on the illustrations for "If we were monkeys" a children's book that he's writing for Kacee, his friend Brigit's little girl. Brigit asked him to write a book for Kacee when she was pregnant... over three years ago!

He came up with the idea of the book really quickly and popped off a few lines right away. I loved it from the first idea of it. Then some months the ideas were marinating and some months I could tell it was all he'd be thinking about. The writing process even for a children's book looked exhausting to me! He'd wake up and quick jot down ideas that came to him and always has to have pen and paper so when the thought strikes he can get it down so he doesn't forget it.

The past couple of months he hammered out the final wording he wanted -- he did a ton (literally, hundreds) of revisions to it! And now this weekend he got 13 illustrations done! And we ordered a couple of books tonight from Snapfish. We're hoping to get about 100 copies from a self publishing company to send to friends and family with or without kids. It's an adorable book about a girl and her mom who are playing pretend, but the girl gets scared pretending.

Here's my favorite of the illustrations. So cute, huh? Well I'll let you know when we get the 100 copies and we'll send one to you if you want! :) Daniel's self conscious about it, but it's really cute. Hope you like it, Kacee! I know we will!

More on our little monkey soon!

Henry just being cute.

Took this of Henry while we were out for a walk the other day. He's sitting on the soccer field in our neighborhood. Lots of walking, lots of falling. We haven't introduced the soccer ball to the field quite yet. :)

Another installment of "The Funny Pages by Daniel" this weekend sometime. Have a good one!

The funny pages by Daniel O'Hara

Click on the comic to make it bigger. Daniel made this quite a few months ago, but I looked at it tonight and it hit a funny bone. It'll probably hit yours too. :) More to come!

Turn your head to the side!

Yep we're walking here. We're still learning how to use the camera, but we're walking. :)
